CONSOLES
Modcon Line

TROY has added a new line of modular consoles to help meet a variety of equipment needs. The front console, called CC-MODCON, is sloped to provide a good view of and access to control heads. If you also install a computer, the top of the MODCON is designed to accept a generic mounting platform on top of which you can mount a keyboard, laptop or docking station. The MODCON holds 7 inches of faceplates (ideal for a radio and light bar/siren control head). Although it is part of a modular package, the CC-MODCON is also sold separately.

The second part of this modular approach is an extension console that is available in four sizes: 8", 10", 12" and 14". These extension consoles are called CC-MODCON-8, CC-MODCON-10, CC-MODCON-12 and CC-MODCON-14. When sold with a MODCON, the list price for only the extension consoles is reduced by $100.00.

When bolted together as a single system, the MODCON with an extension console yields a faceplate mounting surface area of 15" up to 21". Some users have bolted a second extension console to get an even longer system; e.g., they have bolted together a MODCON (7"), a CC-MODCON-14 (14") and another CC-MODCON-14 (14") for a total of 35".

The modular approach offers you a wide variety of equipment mounting solutions.

MC Console Line

The new MC console line was adapted from the two-piece MODCON line. Instead of bolting together two separate consoles, you can get the effect of both in a single console. Right now, we offer the one-piece MODCON-like console in two sizes: 14" and 16". We will soon also offer it in 18".

Like the MODCON, the MC console is designed to accept a generic mounting platform on which to mount keyboards, laptops and docking stations. The benefit of this all-in-one approach is to shrink the overall footprint to make optimum use of vehicle space. This becomes a critical benefit when you consider installing accessories (beverage holders, storage space, etc.), partitions and weapons in your vehicles.

Impala Console

TROY is bringing to market a narrow version of its console design to fit in the more challenging between-the-seats section of the Chevrolet Impala. TROY's standard line of consoles measures 8 7/8" wide. This new, narrow console will be only 7.75" wide and features a 6" tapered rear to facilitate the travel path of the seat belts (which travel with the seats) around the console as required. While it is impractical to build a 6" console (not too many components would fit inside a console of that width), this console with the tapered end can at least minimize the trauma to the seat belts by guiding them around the console rather than hitting the back of it. Naturally, all faceplates will be custom made to fit this new console.

COMPUTER MOUNTS
Universal Laptop Mount

TROY is excited to offer a one-of-a-kind universal laptop pole mount! What makes it unique? There are no clamps and it can be articulated in a number of positions to meet reach requirements. It moves up and down, swivels, pulls out towards the driver and passenger, and pivots. A single lock point (knob or cam lock) makes it very easy to use.

The mounting plate consists of two parts. The first part is welded to a stout pole made from stainless steel and is shaped like a trapezoid. A second part - a matching trapezoid-shape sleeve - is designed to slip onto the mount and key-lock into place.

Using either aircraft grade adhesive or Gorilla-grip type Velcro (both supplied by TROY), you attach the sleeve to the bottom of your computer. (Note: If you need to gain access to the bottom of your computer to, say, the battery, then use Velcro instead of the adhesive.) Attached in this fashion, it takes only seconds to remove or re-attach the computer to the mount should you need to remove it from your vehicle.

If your officers often remove the laptops from the vehicle, this is an ideal choice.
If two officers share the same vehicle and each needs to keep his laptop with him, you buy only one mount and an extra sleeve.

If your agency has a different mix of laptop computers, you don't have to shop around for a variety of mounts. This one will work for all of them.

This laptop mount is designed to bolt to our current console floor mounts; however, soon, we will also offer a version that mounts to the top of the MODCON and MC console products.
